Pranav Joshi is an award-winning
environmental professional, literary artist (writer and
poet), trainer and researcher (who occasionally visits
subject matters such as origin of universe, atomic
theories, mystery of gravitational force and meaning of
life).
Based in Singapore, he has published a novel ("Behind a Cultural Cage"), short stories, poems and technical papers/articles. For more details, please visit his website at: https://sites.google.com/site/lifecageint/home
Pranav migrated to the Lion City of Singapore after finishing his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from the prestigious Bhabha Atomic Research Centre or BARC, and University of Bombay (former being the place of research). He has since integrated his personal universe around the roars and whispers of the Lion City of Singapore.
As an environmental professional, he holds M.Sc. degree in Environmental Engineering from the National University of Singapore (NUS), and has served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the NUS, and taught Environmental Technology module for the Master's in Environmental Management degree course.
In the past, he has served as the President of the Society of Environmental Health (Singapore), and as a Chairman for Asia and Pacific Region of an international NGO. He has also served as a member of the World Health Organization (Geneva)'s International Network of Drinking-water Regulators.
He has travelled to more than 20 countries and gained valuable experience by interacting with people of diverse backgrounds.
In the past, he has worked as a Regional Manager for a multinational company.
His areas of technical expertise include those areas that directly affect human lives, e.g. drinking water & wastewater, sustainability and impact of climate change, environmental protection (air pollution, purification & waste management), chemicals, food hygiene, sanitation and public health sciences. He has trained over thousands of professionals during his career, and given presentations during international events such as World Water Congress. During his Ph.D., he was also involved in the work relating to nuclear reactors!
He was awarded world water leadership award for his contributions to the professional communities.
During his all-embracing professional career, Pranav has written numerous technical papers and manuals, and has interacted ("dealt" will not be a polite word!) with diverse groups of people, exploring the waters and sediments of the human eco-systems brimming with multiculturalism and globalization.
After discovering that his writer's soul had grown a whole tree of literary talent, it was a call of the heart. He embarked on a journey of penning this novel, short stories and poetry.
His dream is to build iconic statues — a Statue of Environment, a Statue of Economics and a Statue of Cultural Diversity.
